the night shift

Dave has just started the night shift at the hospital. To anyone who has worked nights, do you have any advice for our resident?

Only thing I've heard people doing to get through night shifts is to pound LOADS of coffee... don't think that will work for Dave, but diet coke might be a good compromise:)

From my experience, 4-5 am is the hardest part of the shift...

I think Ryan tries to get all his work done as fast as possible so he can sleep. Is Dave only on nights now or does he just stay overnight every few days? We have blackout lining for Cash's room. Could work well if Dave is doing all nights right now. Good luck. I hate being along at nights.(Like tonight, hence the blogging. I seem to always delay bedtime when he's gone. Maybe I'm less scared in the light!) Beware of the creepy noises in these old houses when you're alone!

As a nurse I've worked straight night shifts for 3 years now! It's hard at first but your body adjusts to it! Dave probably won't be working all nights though. I wish there was some magic way to not get sleepy. I tend to eat a lot to keep myself awake, since I'm not a big fan of the caffine stuff! To sleep during the day I darken up the windows and run a fan to block out noise. Best of luck to you! Billy :)
